Divis Laboratories Ltd's net profit increased 44 per cent at Rs 98 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2010, compared with Rs 68 crore in the year-ago period, on higher sales. The total revenue of the Hyderabad-based company went up by 53 per cent, to Rs 313 crore (Rs 204 crore). Earnings-per-share stood at Rs 7.67 (Rs 5.25). “The implementation of its special-economic-zone project worth Rs 200 crore is in progress in Visakhapatnam,” the company said in a release issued on Friday. The company also informed the BSE that its compensation committee allotted 29,690 equity shares of Rs 2 each to the employees. The paid-up share capital would increase accordingly, it added. Divis' scrip climbed 3.76 per cent to end at Rs 656.85 on the BSE on Friday.
