DuPont is planning to recruit over 700 persons in India to ramp up its operations.
“We will adopt different methods of recruitment depending on the category of talent we are looking for. This will also include campus recruitment from reputed universities and institutions,” Mr S. T. Tsay, Director – HR (Asia – Pacific) DuPont, told Business Line here.
The US-based company has about 1,200 employees in India (out of the 60,000 globally) located in major centres such as Gurgaon, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Production facilities
It operates three major production facilities — at Savli in Gujarat, for crop protection products, at Medchal (near Hyderabad for ‘Pioneer' seeds) and Madurai for filaments and ‘Teflon' non-stick coatings.
In addition, there is a DuPont Knowledge Centre at Hyderabad, which is one of its seven global R&D centres outside the US.
The US-major is also thinking of recruiting people from social media which is becoming very popular now.
“We are mainly looking for engineers and scientists,” Ms Pallavai Tyagi, Director (HR)- DuPont India, said.
The attrition levels in the company were in single digit, she added.
Growth plans
Saying over $30 billion diversified corporation has ‘aggressive' growth plans in India, Mr Tsay said added that the HR strategy of the company was integrated with growth plans in the pipeline.
“We are very keen on growing domestic business here. Our short-term business goal is to achieve revenue of over one billion dollars in next two years,” he said.
The company is now ‘pretty close' to reaching $1billion revenue, he added.
Revenue drivers
At present, agricultural products are the main drivers of revenue for DuPont followed by products for automobile industry, according to Ms Tyagi.
