Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad is to operate a twice a day to Bangalore, Chennai and Kozhikode from Abu Dhabi starting Wednesday
In a statement, the airline said that from October 1 this year, Hyderabad will also have two flights a day to Abu Dhabi.
The statement adds that the two-times a day flights to Bangalore, Chennai and Kozhikode come on the back of introduction of twice-a-day flights from Abu Dhabi to Kochi, which started in June this year.
The airline had earlier started operating two flights a day from Mumbai and New Delhi to Abu Dhabi from November last year.
In addition to the seven existing or planned double-daily services, the airline operates daily to Ahmedabad, Trivandrum and recently, Jaipur, where flights commenced in April this year, the statement adds.
“As one of the largest, fastest-growing travel markets in the world, India continues to play an important role in our growth plans. Last year alone, more than 885,000 people flew on our Indian services, a substantial increase of 20 per cent on the previous year,” James Hogan, the airline’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said.
