FitnessOne, a chain of fitness studio and fitness stores, plans to increase the number of outlets from 37 to 100 across south India within the next two years with an investment of Rs 20 crore.
As part of this expansion, it will add 20 new stores to the existing 20 in Andhra Pradesh, Mr P.N. Vivekanand, Managing Director of the company, told press persons here on Thursday.
While the women fitness studio is run under the brand name Pink, the fitness stores are branded Propel. It has 10 fitness stores offering fitness equipment, costing between Rs 300 and Rs 3 lakh, such as treadmills, yoga mats, stretchers and strength equipment.
“The fitness market in India is estimated at Rs 2,500 crore, with a growth rate of 25 per cent. Fitness consciousness is on the rise in the southern States as well,” he said.
While a bulk of the outlets is company-owned, it has some franchise-operated centres also.
“To opt for a franchise, a total investment of about Rs 20 lakh is required, depending on the size and location,” he said.
It is also planning to sharpen its focus on corporate houses.
“Today we have big corporate houses such as Cognizant, Britannia and Saint Gobain as our clients — we have set up our branded fitness centres at their premises with a personal trainer. We have established 100 captive corporate fitness centres across India,” Mr Vivekanand said.
