Fortune Hotels Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of ITC Ltd, will soon take over the management of erstwhile Quality Inn Aruna in Chennai.
The property, owned by Aruna Hotels Ltd, will be called Fortune Park Aruna-Chennai. “We are all set. There are some minor modifications that need to be done to meet the minimum brand standards of Fortune Hotels, which we expect to get over in the next few weeks,” said Mr Suresh Kumar, CEO, Fortune Hotels.
Fortune Hotels, a mid-market full-service business hotel chain, has 36 properties with an inventory of 2,800 rooms across the country.
This will be the chain's 37{+t}{+h} property. Fortune has signed 63 alliances with close to 5,000 rooms in 47 locations.
According to Mr Kumar, the company's focus is now to consolidate business by fine-tuning offerings, “both in terms of strategic development and service deliveries”. In five-year perspective, the hotel chain hopes to see at least 50 hotels operational with over 4,200 rooms.
As Fortune Hotels is only a management company, it does not invest in properties. So, Mr Kumar says, the company wants to develop properties along with promoters as greenfield projects.
