Germany-based security company August Bremicker Sohne KG (ABUS) is open to acquisitions in India.

“We are open to acquisition for inorganic growth in India,” ABUS Export Sales & Marketing Manager Mr Sebastian Rothe told PTI.

He, however, said there are very few security companies in India that can match ABUS’s profile for a takeover.

“Globally, we do not operate through joint ventures with any local partner. If we take stake, we take full control,” Mr Rothe said when asked whether the company was keen for any partnership with any local security company.

ABUS, a family-owned firm for over 80 years, has been operating an assembling line in India for the past three years.

They have a production facility in China and thus, there is no hurry to establish a manufacturing base in India, Mr Rothe said.

While declining to divulge revenue numbers, he claimed that ABUS’s market share in the local market is second after Godrej, but the gap between them is huge.

The company operates in the domestic, mobile and commercial and electronic security systems space.
