Godrej Appliances is keen to enter joint product development pacts with other home appliances makers.

At present, the company has technology collaboration with Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances, to develop and market energy-efficient refrigerators.

According to Kamal Nandi, Executive Vice-President, Godrej Appliances, similar pacts may be signed with other companies in different product categories.

He, however, did not give the details of the other areas or appliance-makers with whom the company was eyeing similar tie-ups.

“As of now, there are no new joint product development pacts (in the offing). But we are open to them,” he said.

On the pact with Bosch, he said they were developing energy efficient refrigerators that consume less electricity. The products are likely to be launched by the respective companies under their own brands in the Indian market around mid of 2014.

Refrigerator sales account for 60 per cent of the Godrej’s top-line. Washing machines (18 per cent), air-conditioners (15 per cent) and micro-waves (7 per cent) are the other verticals in which the company operates.
