Hungama.com, the consumer business of Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, plans to enter West Asia and Singapore markets with Indian movies, both Bollywood and regional.

The company will initially launch over 5,000 movies on the digital platform Hungama Movies. Hungama’s movie platform has over 50,000 subscribers in India and it expects the same to grow three times in the next 12 months. The company expects to add another 10,000 subscribers this year itself from the UAE and Singapore markets.

“Our intent is to cater to the needs of over 1.5 billion south Asians globally. In the first phase, we will launch 5,000 titles in these two countries. It will be launched at the Gitex Technology Week 2012 in UAE,” said Siddhartha Roy, COO, Consumer Business and Allied Services at Hungama

It is the one-stop digital destination of the largest library of Bollywood and Indian movies, available in both HD and SD formats on a monthly subscription of Rs 100 (AED 6.99).

Roy further said that the company is targeting about 15 per cent of total revenues from these two markets in the first phase alone. In the second phase, the company plans to enter the UK, the US and Canada, besides launching television content, he added.

“We plan to bring in the very best of Indian digital content to on every digital platform such as smart televisions, mobiles and tablets,” Roy said.

Bollywood titles include blockbusters from Yash Raj Films, T-Series, Reliance and UTV Motion Pictures, amongst others.
