Thunderstorms and light to moderate precipitation are not being ruled out for Jaipur, venue for tonight’s IPL cricket match.

Rajasthan Royals take on Chennai Super Kings in the match scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Sawai Mansingh stadium.

The principal weather maker is a resident western disturbance, a seasonal low-pressure wave that crosses in across the border from Pakistan.

This is supported by a cyclonic circulation over traced to last evening over southeast Rajasthan, which triggers the thunderstorms.

India Meteorological Department has forecast partly cloudy skies with 40 per cent chance of a thunderstorm developing.

The wind pattern would be westerly to southwesterly, the latter indicating lift-up of moisture from the northeast Arabian Sea.
