The trough of lower pressure connecting coastal West Bengal with south Tamil Nadu could have some influence on weather for Bangalore, venue for today’s IPL match.

The pre-monsoon trough lines are known to create ideal conditions for precipitating late evening thunderstorms along the area it traverses.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) traced the presence of convective (rain-bearing) clouds over south interior Karnataka last night itself.

On Sunday morning, partly cloudy conditions are prevailing over Bangalore. Day temperatures are expected to range between 34 and 36 deg Celsius.

Dry westerly winds are expected to mop up some moisture from the Bay of Bengal as they blow in as southeasterlies.

It remains to be seen, however, whether these would be able to prevail over much stronger westerlies dominating over the southern city.

IMD has indicated that humidity levels could go up to 85 per cent, which could set up partly cloudy skies over the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
