Monster Employment Index, an online career and recruitment resource, said hiring sentiment was up 17% in June compared with the same month last year.
“Of the 27 industry sectors monitored by the index, 26 sectors exhibited improved recruitment activity year-on-year,” said a release by Monster.
Recruitment activity in the home appliances sector was up 56 per cent, followed by media and entertainment, which was up 53 per cent, Sanjay Modi, Managing Director, Monster.com, said. Modi said, “Increased thrust on reviving economic growth, boosting the manufacturing sector and creating more employment has led to growth in India’s business confidence. We have seen an incredible upsurge in online recruitment in the NGO and social sector.”
According to the index, the trends showed greater demand for senior management professionals, which saw 51 per cent growth in demand between June 2013 and 2014.
Among cities, Bangalore led the way, while Jaipur, the only city to exhibit a negative trend, was down by 2 per cent.
