LG’s AC repels mosquitoes

How about a room air-conditioner that can repel mosquitoes as well? LG India has launched a new range of air-conditioners that will emit ultrasonic waves at a “particular frequency” — above 30 kHz — to keep away mosquitoes. Saurabh Baisakhia, Business Head (Air-conditioners), said it will not cause any harm to human beings. This model has been launched in African and Indonesian markets. “But, we had to tweak it a little bit as mosquitoes in India are different from those geographies. It took two years of research and development,” said Baisakhia.
