Larsen & Toubro has received a Rs 1,100-crore order from the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd to set up a 375-MW, gas-based power plant at Dhuvaran, near Baroda. The engineering, procurement and construction contract includes design, supply, installation and commissioning of the complete power plant on a turnkey basis. The plant will incorporate the advanced class gas turbines and high efficiency steam turbines from Siemens AG, Germany, which will be procured by L&T. L&T-Sargent & Lundy, a subsidiary of L&T, will carry out the plant integration and detailed engineering, using propriety technology of Sargent & Lundy, US.
L&T will design and manufacture critical equipment for the plant such as heat recovery steam generator, de-aerator, condenser, cooling tower, switchgear and valves. All work related to project management, construction, installation and commissioning will be done by L&T.The project will be executed by L&T Power and commissioned during 12th plan period, within 30 months from date of notice to proceed, the company said.
