Auto component conglomerate Anand Group announced that group company Mahle Filter Systems India (MFSI) has opened its second plant at Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh. The new plant was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, on Friday.

This unit will cater to a new product range and service the requirement of MFSI's existing and new customers such as Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, M&M, GM and Bosch. It will also supply to the replacement market in India and export. Initially, the 45th plant of Anand Group will generate direct and indirect employment for over 150 people.

“The plant went into production on March 19, 2010 and will generate annual revenue of Rs 25 crore this year. The proposed installed capacity of the plant is expected to be 22 million filters per annum,” said Mr Sunil Nair, COO, Mahle Filter Systems India Ltd .

Mr K. C. Anand, Member, Deep C Anand Foundation, Anand Automotive Group, said, “With the largest range of automotive components, the Group recorded a sales turnover of $700 Million in 2009, with a target to achieve $2 billion by 2014. Anand Automotive Group has an investment plan of Rs 1,300-1,500 crore for the next five years for new plants and new joint ventures in the automotive sector and capacity building in existing plants.”

MFSI is a joint venture between MAHLE Group of Germany and Anand. It was established in 1966 to manufacture an extensive range of air, oil, fuel and hydraulic filters.
