Maruti Suzuki has increased its car prices by up to 2.2 per cent effective January 17.
While the maximum hike of Rs 10,000 is on the Gypsy SUV, which mostly has institutional sales, other regular models have had a hike of Rs 8,000. Prices of the Alto, 800, A-star, Zen Estilo, Omni and Swift have been increased by Rs 2,000.
While the Wagon R, Eeco and Swift Dzire have become dearer by Rs 3,000, the Ritz' price tag is up by Rs 1,000 and the SX4 sedan by Rs 5,000. Prices for the recently launched Alto K10 have not been touched while the Eeco CNG saw a hike of Rs 8,000.
“Rising costs of raw materials like steel, aluminium, rubber and copper has necessitated this move,” said Mr Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager, Marketing.
