The organisers had tied up with the Festival of Media Awards 2011 to be held in Switzerland, a global award property for excellence in use of media, to introduce two categories at the Media Abbys. It was announced that winners in these categories would be ‘fast tracked' at the Festival of Media Awards, and added to short-listed entries announced on March 11.
In the category ‘Best Communication Strategy', two entries from Mediacom, one each for Volkswagen Polo (Gold at Media Abbys 2011) and Skoda Yeti (Silver), will represent India at the Festival of Media 2011. The other category ‘Best Contribution by a Media Owner' did not throw up any winners.
In addition to these two entries, Creativeland Asia's work on Hippo through digital media (Twitter) will also represent India, though it did not win a metal at Media Abbys for the chosen category of Communication Strategy.
