NTL Electronics Ltd., a supplier of electronic ballasts and manufacturer of LED lights, is planning to set up a manufacturing base in partnership with Dutch company Lemis Lighting.

“The new manufacturing facility will come up in North India by the end of the current financial year. This unit will be a joint venture initiative by the company with The Netherlands-based major Lemis Lighting aiming to sell the products in the domestic market,” Mr. Arun Gupta, Managing Director of NTL Electronics, said.

The company plans to invest about Rs. 10 crore in the new facility required to tap the opportunity in the country. “We plan to target the commercial establishment such as special economic zones, IT parks and for city lighting requirements. This is a big shift from the focus earlier on business to business supplies,” he said.

The company has been a supplier of lighting ballasts and LED lighting in India. But the focus had been on business to business supplies to customers such as Crompton Greaves, Philips, among others.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr. Gupta said that the company closed last financial year with total revenues of Rs. 550 crore (Rs. 424 crore a year before) and is looking at sustaining the growth this year.
