Nikon India has announced the launch of its first Nikon D-SLR Zone in the Capital city.
Mr Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India, inaugurated the facility here recently.
Other senior members from the Nikon India headquarters were also present on the occasion, a company spokesman said here.
According to Mr Takashina, D-SLR Zones would not only help strengthen the brand, but also promote photography culture in a big way.
Mr Sajjan Kumar, General Manager, Imaging Products, Nikon India, said the company is targeting more than 2,000 retail outlets for in-store branding. It also plans to hire over 200 store promoters in the current financial year.
The company has already set up 81 D-SLR zones in the country. The shop-in-shop retail concept has been in vogue since February 2009.
These outlets display the entire range of D-SLR cameras, ‘Nikkor' lenses and ‘Coolpix' compact cameras. The D-SLR zone here is located at Baba Enterprises.
