A tripartite meeting between the Dunlop India management, representatives of labour unions and the West Bengal government, on Friday, failed to arrive at a consensus on re-opening the closed unit at Shahgunj.
Located nearly 50 km from Kolkata, the unit has been closed since October 2011.
The workers' unions have reportedly demanded that dues of employees be cleared before they take part in tripartite discussions.
This apart, workers have also complained of irregular wages.
According to the West Bengal Labour Minister, Mr Purnendu Basu, the workers unions have demanded that nearly Rs 25,000 of wages per worker has been due as a settlement amount since 2006.
