Paschal Form Work (India), a venture of Paschal Werk G. Maier Gmbh of Germany and construction company NCC Ltd, has announced the roll out of modular pre forms useful for the construction industry from its manufacturing base located near Visakhapatnam.

The company stated that it plans to expand its manufacturing capacity during the year.

These pre forms conform to European standards but customised for Indian requirement. Being modular in nature, they are easy to deploy and help expedite construction work.

The venture, set up last year with an outlay of €12 million (about Rs 77 crore) with a capacity to manufacture 50,000 square metres of wall panels and 15,000 sq.m. of roof panels, is expected to achieve a turnover of about Rs 100 crore during the current financial year, according to Mr Udo J. Vetter, Chairman of Paschal (India).

Addressing a press conference here late on Friday after the launch of e-deck pre forms, Mr V. Radhakrishna, Director of Projects, NCC: said “the first year business has been fully tied up. NCC, Lanco Infratech and several other construction companies are Paschal customers. We have begun pilot exports to some select markets including Oman.”

“With the first year business fully committed, we are looking at expansion of the existing facility by the first quarter of next year. This would mean doubling the existing capacity at the same site with an investment of about Rs 30 crore more. We plan launch of other products,” Mr Vetter said.

Mr A. Ramakrishna, former President of L&T Ltd, said: “the Indian construction industry has relatively low productivity. If the pace of the country’s construction industry has to go up and meet the targeted achievements, we would have to adopt new technologies while also speed up the construction process.”

“The system form work is yet to become popular because it needs higher investment. But when companies invest in pre forms, this results in increased productivity,” he said.
