The Ramanasri Group, on Sunday announced the launch of Varshi brand tea in the market, their fifth product introduced in the market since June 2010. Initially, this will be introduced across the southern market to be followed with other regions

The Group said that they plan to launch few more products within couple of months, which include coffee, coconut oil and salt. Earlier, the company had launched Varshi sunflower oil, whole wheat atta, refined rice bran oil and vermicelli.

“With the launch of Varshi tea, we have completed the launch of five of the seven products we had planned during the year. The rest of the products will also be introduced shortly,” Mr O.V. Ramana, Managing Director of Ramanasri Group, said.

After formal launch of the tea, Mr Ramana told media persons that the company plans to set up a manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh with an investment outlay of about Rs. 150 crore. A decision on the location of the unit would be finalised within two months after the Government offers the land. This plant would serve as a base for manufacture of some more consumer products,

“We are looking at a turnover of about Rs 250 crore by next year,” he said.

The tea is being offered in packs of 100 and 250 gm. Tea is also packed in refillable pet jar.

The Ramanasri Group is also a major player in the logistics business in South and is in the process of expanding its presence to the North, Mr Ramana said.
