Reliance Brands, a group company of the Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries, will set up 37 exclusive mono stores for its foreign apparel and footwear brands by 2011.
“We plan to have 55 exclusive stores for our apparel and footwear brands by the end of this calendar year,” Mr Darshan Mehta, President and CEO, Reliance Brands, said adding that the company was open to the idea of investing in Indian fashion brands and evolve its own brands as well.
The company, at present, has 20 mono stores across nine cities including Delhi, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Reliance Brands has associations with six international lifestyle brands — Diesel, Timberland, Zegna, Paul & Shark, Quiksilver and Steve Madden. The company has formed joint ventures with premium apparel makers Zenga and Paul & Shark and international casual wear maker Diesel. It has a licence-cum-distribution agreement with footwear maker Timberland, Quiksilver and Steve Madden.
Reliance Brands is yet to launch its Quiksilver and Steve Madden stores in the country.
