A retired employee here, Mr Hanumantha Rao, won the Samsung smart home bumper prize of Rs 1 lakh and it was presented to him here on Tuesday by a company representative as a part of the countrywide 45-day Samsung Smart Utsav launched by the company from September 15.

After giving away the prize, Mr Mahesh Krishnan, Vice-President and Business Head of the home appliances division of Samsung India, said Mr Hanumantha Rao had bought a one-tonne Samsung split air-conditioner and he was the first lucky winner from these parts. He would get Samsung products worth Rs 1 lakh. The prize-winner said he was overwhelmed with the windfall and would continue to buy Samsung products.

Mr Krishnan said the annual promotion campaign had started from September 15 and it would continue till October 31. “There will be assured prizes and cash-back offers during the period. Customers are requested to send a message (SMS) stating their names, the serial numbers to win one of the 24 Smart Home prizes being announced every day. There would be a daily draw and customers could get prizes worth Rs 1,00,000 or Rs 50,000 or Rs. 25,000. During the 45-day period, the company is giving away prizes worth Rs 150 crore in all,” he said.

He said Samsung was also offering zero per cent finance offer during the period in addition to the ongoing schemes. “We have also introduced to the market a number of new products to make it worthwhile for our customers. We expect to sell products worth Rs 2,500 crore countrywide during the period and Andhra Pradesh is one of our main markets,” he said.

Mr Murahari Rao, Regional Manager, Andhra Pradesh, said customers need not necessarily register their names on the same day they buy the products. They could do so on any day during the 45-day offer period from September 15 to participate in the lucky draw. He urged consumers in the State to avail themselves of the offer.
