Shree Cement Ltd has announced a change in its accounting period. The company will close its accounts on June 30, this year onwards. Shree Cement has reported a near 73 per cent increase in net profit of Rs 114 crore for the quarter ended March 31. It had reported a profit of nearly Rs 66 crore for the corresponding quarter, last fiscal. The board, according a press release issued by the company, has declared an interim dividend of Rs 6 or 60 per cent an equity share of face value Rs 10 a share. Shree Cement's turnover rose by 38 per cent to nearly Rs 1,478 crore for the quarter. During the quarter, the company has started work on setting up a new clinker unit at Ras in Rajasthan. The unit is expected to be completed by September.
