The third 660-mw supercritical coal-based unit of Adani Power Ltd (APL) at Mundra is expected to be on stream by mid-September, according to sources. The company has already commissioned 2640 mw of thermal capacities at Mundra including four units of 330 mw and two units of 660 mw.
APL was the first company in the country to install super-critical units, in December 2010. The Ahmedabad headquartered company is using China made boiler-generator turbine packages for installing a total capacity of 4620 mw at Mundra in this fiscal.
The first unit (660 mw) at Tiroda in Maharashtra is expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2011. The Tiroda facility will have a total capacity of 3300 mw (5 X 660 mw). Site development is currently on at Dahej (2640 mw), Kawai (1320 mw) and Chindwara (1320 mw).
