Suzlon Group said the installed wind capacity at Jaisalmer Wind Park in Rajasthan had crossed 1,000 MW.
The park comprises a cluster of wind farm sites within the Jaisalmer district, including Amarsagar, Badabaug, Baramsar, Tejuva and Soda Mada. It houses projects of some of Suzlon’s key customers such as Mytrah Energy, Hindustan Zinc, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals and Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, the company said.
Suzlon said the first turbine was commissioned at Tejuva in Baramsar in July 2011. On April 1, 2012, the installed capacity reached 1,064 MW.
“Suzlon is proud to be playing such a vital role in powering the state of Rajasthan. Completing one GW of installed capacity is a great achievement for us and for wind energy in India,” said Mr Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, Suzlon Group.
