Talent Management International (TMI) in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has launched e2E Academy here to address the growing shortage of people with employment capabilities.

The focus of the academy is on bridging the demand supply gap of employable pool. As a part of this arrangement, the academy will train fresh graduates and diploma holders in areas where industry requires people. These could be in the areas of sales, customer service, technical support, back office and even in manufacturing sector.

As a part of this move, it has drawn up plans to launch 44 new courses over a period to cover new emerging jobs in 16 sectors including retail, telecom, insurance, banking , financial services, automobiles, pharma, manufacturing, IT, ITES and FMCG. Ms D.Purandeswari, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development, launched the e2E (which stands for education to employment) portal.

Speaking on employability challenges, she said at present, the capacity of skill development in India is around 3.1 million persons a year. The XI plan envisions an increase in that capacity to 15 million annually. India has a target of creating 500 million skilled workers by 2022. Therefore, there is a need for increasing capacity ad capability of skill development programmes. She expressed the need to focus on vocational training to achieve this major objective

The Managing Director of TMI, Mr T.Muralidharan, said that it is proposed to set up employability assessment and training centres at 900 graduate colleges across 31 States and Union Territories in a phased manner. Initially, the Academy will cater to companies such as Karvy, HSIL, Club Mahindra, Indian Immunologicals among others.
