The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called for a nation-wide dharna on November 1, seeking a regulator for e-retailers
Claiming that the recent online festival discount offers were affecting brick-and-mortar trade, CAIT’s national governing council meet on Monday, attended by 22 State trade leaders, urged the Government to immediately intervene in the matter.
“The e-commerce business in India is like an open playground where every player is free to play games as per his own whims and wishes and settling his own rules and regulations, no matter how detrimental it could be either for the economy or for rest of the stakeholders,” said Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General, CAIT, in a statement.
