Following the exits at ad agency JWT India, a Ford employee has exited the company after an ad campaign for Ford Figo led to a huge furore.

The ad campaign, created by JWT India, was criticised world-over for its sexist, offensive overtones.

An unnamed Ford India employee connected to the ad is no longer with the company.

Ford, in a statement, said: “The Ford India employee is no longer with the company. We also are reviewing our processes and increasing our education efforts to help ensure nothing like this ever happens again.”

The company, however, did not share further details.

Earlier this week, Bobby Pawar, Chief Creative Officer and Managing Partner, JWT India, stepped down from the agency. Vijay Simha, creative director, Blue Hive, the WPP unit handling the Ford account, too reportedly quit.

One ad shows a caricature of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi flashing a victory sign, with three skimpily-clad handcuffed women, in the trunk of the small car, to show that the car has a large boot space. Another advertisement depicts a smiling Paris Hilton, with TV stars, the Kardashian sisters, bound behind. These ads, meant for the Italian and American markets, were never officially aired but were posted on the Web site ‘Ads Of The World’. They were subsequently pulled out, following a big outcry.
