ABB India hit by muted business environment has posted a 5.05 per cent higher profit for the first-quarter (Q1) in the calendar 2015 at ₹54.29 crore against ₹51.68 crore during the same period last year.
Revenue for Q1 was flat at ₹1,814.57 crore against ₹1,827.71 crore recorded last year. EPS (basic) stood at ₹2.58 (last year ₹2.44).
“Over the last few years, ABB India has been tenaciously working towards making its offerings and operations resilient and future ready. This has been reflected in the consistent range bound margin expansion in a challenging market environment,” Bazmi Husain, Managing Director, said in a statement.
He further said: “We are in a strong position to deliver once the market revives and investments in late cycle industries follow.” The company received orders worth ₹1,856 crore in the first-quarter of 2015. A double-digit growth in short cycle orders helped sustain business momentum.
