Film production company Abundantia Entertainment will make its digital début on Amazon Prime Video on January 26 with an eight-part thriller, Breathe .

At the launch of the trailer here on Wednesday, Vikram Malhotra, founder and CEO, Abundantia, said video-streaming is a fast-growing market that the company hopes to tap. Four more series are in “active development” including a series adaptation of Manohar Malgaonkar’s The Men Who Killed Gandhi .

The firm sees significant opportunity in this new platform with international exposure inherent to it.

Vijay Subramaniam, Director, Content, Amazon Prime Video India, said Breathe is the first of the platform’s original content this year, which will be followed by nine more. The platform is exploring new genre and unique content themes.

Breathe is a psychological thriller series starring R Madhavan, Amit Sadh and Sapna Pabbi. It is directed by Mayank Sharma.

Madhavan said the new platform is an exciting medium, with huge entertainment value for audiences and professional growth opportunities. “Look at any international big-screen stars who have been part of this platform, their popularity and star value only grows multi-fold,” he said.
