The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) on Friday announced the winners of 30 more geographical areas (GAs) put up for auction in the ninth bid round for the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks.

With this, the total number of areas with declared winners has reached 78. Eighty-six GAs were on offer during this round. A PNGRB statement said the winners of the remaining regions will be announced in due course.

Adani Gas Ltd emerged as the biggest winner in this round, bagging the rights to develop the CGD infrastructure for 13 regions by itself. In addition, its joint venture with IndianOil, IndianOil-Adani Gas Pvt Ltd, will be developing nine GAs.

Bharat Gas Resources Ltd, a BPCL subsidiary, came second in this round with 11 GAs. Gujarat-based Torrent Gas Pvt Ltd will be developing nine GAs and IndianOil Corporation, seven GAs by itself.

A relatively new consortium of Think Gas Investments PTE Ltd and Think Gas Distribution Pvt Ltd has bagged four GAs in this round. An overseas registered consortium of AG&P LNG Marketing Pte Ltd and Atlantic Gulf & Pacific company of Manila will be developing the CGD infrastructure for two regions.
