Private sector ports major Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) on Monday reported consolidated net profit of Rs 667 crore for the second quarter ended September 2015, up 16 per cent from Rs 574 crore reported in the same period last year.
The company posted consolidated income of Rs 1,986 crore, with an increase of 6 per cent from Rs 1,868 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
For the first half period of the fiscal, April-September, APSEZ net profit stood at Rs 1,308 crore, up 15 per cent from Rs 1,142 crore in the same period last year.
Total consolidated income for the half year was Rs 3,883 crore, up 18 per cent from Rs 3,301 crore in the same period last year.
The company handled 76 million tonnes of cargo during first six months of the current fiscal, showing 10 per cent growth on year-on-year basis from 69 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.
