Adani Power Ltd on Tuesday said the company’s consolidated net loss in the second quarter of 2015-16, ended September 30, stood at Rs. 369 crore as compared to Rs 799 crore in the corresponding quarter the previous fiscal.
APL’s consolidated total income in the said quarter increased by 39 per cent to Rs 5,784 crore (Rs 4,175 crore), a company spokesman said here releasing the quarterly financial results.
The company sold 15.10 billion units in Q2FY16 as against 10.49 billion units in Q2FY15.
Consolidated EBIDTA for the quarter increased by 47 per cent to Rs 1,824 crore (Rs 1,243 crore) in corresponding prior year quarter. The EBIDTA impact of demerger of transmission business was more than compensated by lower cost and improved operational efficiencies achieved at all plants, Gautam Adani, Chairman, said.
Vneet Jaain, Chief Executive Officer, said the results show increased power generation from the total installed capacity of 10,480 MW. Improvement in operational performance and focused efforts has contributed significantly to the financial performance of the quarter. The recent impetus given by the government for increased domestic coal production is likely to improve the financial performance in the ensuing quarters.
