The third 660-MW supercritical coal-based unit of Adani Power Ltd (APL) at Mundra is expected to be on stream next week, according to sources.

The company has already commissioned 2,640 MW of thermal capacities at Mundra including four units of 330 MW and two units of 660 MW.

The Ahmedabad-headquartered company is using China-made boiler-generator turbine packages for installing a total capacity of 4,620 MW at Mundra in this fiscal.

In addition, the first unit (660 MW) at Tiroda in Maharashtra is also on an advanced stage of commissioning. The Tiroda facility will have a total capacity of 3,300 MW (5 X 660 MW).

Site development is currently on at Dahej (2,640 MW), Kawai (1,320 MW) and Chindwara (1,320 MW). The company has also proposed to set up 3,300 MW thermal capacities at Bhadreswar close to Mundra.

Group outfit Adani Mining has also proposed setting up a 10 X 250 MW power plant at Angul near Talcher in Orissa using coal washery rejects. Adani mining is awarded the job of development and operation of a coal block in the locality.

Shares of Adani Power were marginally up to Rs 84.45 at BSE on Friday.
