The Amara Raja Group, a major manufacturer of automotive and industrial batteries, is planning to establish two more Skill Development Centres at Diguvamagham in Chittoor district and in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.

The first Amara Raja Skill Development Centre, started in 2014 with an investment of Rs 30 crore at Pettamitta, Tirupati also in Andhra Pradesh, has been training youth in new areas leading to their employment.

The first centre was established by the Rajanna Trust run under the aegis of Amara Raja Group.

The Amara Raja Skill Development Centre at Pattamitta held its third convocation where 83 students were trained as Multi Skill Technicians.

Ramachandra N Galla, Chairman, Amara Raja, in a statement said, “The Skill development Centre of Amara Raja is a unique programme aimed at providing technical and life skills to the rural youth. The training aims to help youth in the community acquire and enrich their technical skills so as to facilitate their role in society and helping them earn their livelihood through employment.”

Arun Alagappan, Executive Director of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance company Limited, said “Amara Raja Group has been contributing both to the future of the Indian youth through their skill development centre and by doing this inspiring talent in the local communities.”
