Anil Bioplus Ltd, member of the Rs 1,000-crore diversified Anil Group, on Tuesday said it will invest Rs 150 crore to set up a greenfield facility to manufacture a range of enzymes and bio-chemical products.
The company has already acquired land for this project at Halol near Vadodara and work on the plant will begin in November. This project will enhance the capacities of Anil Bioplus’s existing product line and augment its products range with the addition of new enzymes and varieties of gluconates, Amol S. Sheth, Chairman, said here.
The company will produce hi-tech Active Pharma Ingredients (APIs) and speciality enzymes for the food, pharmaceutical and beverage industries.
These products will be over and above the existing product basket of its gluconates and enzymes and will cater to both the domestic and international markets.
Sheth said the new facility will have an ultra-tech R&D facility to focus on pure research, process development and application development. On completion of this project, Anil Bioplus is expected to achieve a turnover of Rs 400 crore in three years.
Anil Bioplus’ products are used by various industries such as food, animal feed, pharmaceuticals, beverages and construction. In food ABL’s products are used for bakery and starch/high maltose syrups, in pharma as digestive aid products and in animal feed as ingredients for poultry and cattle feed. In beverages they are used for brewing as processing aids leading to increased alcohol recovery. They are also used in the construction industry as plasticisers and retarders for better bonding of the concrete/ cement mixture aiding in its strengthening.
