Apollo Hospitals and Italy’s KOS group have jointly launched a medical rehabilitation hospital here.
“The joint venture, ApoKOS, is the first integrated and complete medical rehabilitation hospital in the country,’’ Rahul Khandelwal, Chief Operating Officer, told newspersons at a press conference held here on Thursday.
Dr Antonello Morgantini, Director, ApoKOS Rehab Pvt Ltd, said the initial investment in the 50:50 joint venture was about Rs 20 crore.
“It takes about Rs 15 crore to Rs 20 crore to set up a rehab hospital. We will wait for the results of this first centre before finalising the expansion plans,’’ he added.
The 64-bed rehab hospital provides complete care for patients suffering from cancer, neurological, orthopaedic, cardiopulmonary, paediatric and geriatric diseases, besides trauma care. It is also equipped with physiotherapy and occupational therapy gyms.
The domestic rehab and physiotherapy market is estimated at around Rs 2,000 crore per annum.
