Apparel major Arvind Limited on Friday announced plans for brand Tresca an offering in Giza cotton and Linen base and major expansion of its retail network.

The company proposes separate drive for Tresca’s growth through new product launches and the surge in its distribution network.

 “Print shirting range in cotton and Linen comes naturally to Arvind, as it is one of the largest print shirting manufacturers, and has state of the art facility at Santej, Ahmedabad. We also have world class digital and rotary print machineries giving print better colour fastness. Customers will certainly accept prints in the name of Arvind, as there is clear space for branded print shirting fabric products in the market,” Susheel Kaul, CEO- Lifestyle Fabrics (Shirting, Khaki & Knitwear) Arvind Limited.

Tresca is also targeting aggressive penetration in Tier-two and Tier-three cities, and will increase its distribution over the next two years.

The Print fabric market on high quality Giza Cotton base/Linen base is approximately 1 million metres annually in India, and is likely to get doubled in next one year. Also, Linen shirting has started contributing close to 30-40 per cent to the premium shirting fabric sales in India.

Shridhar Soni, (Head-Sales and Marketing Arvind DTR business) said, “Hyderabad is known as fashion city in India in the league of Surat and Bangalore. This is the place where people try new things first. Also we have high number of Exclusive Brand outlets in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (close to 50), while we have 100 Multi Brand Outlets here that we plan to take it to 500”.

 “We wish to make Tresca a strong brand in Linen space, and this is one way to keep its quality led DNA intact”, said Soni.
