US-based specialty chemicals maker, Ashland Inc, has opened a global business centre in the city.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, its Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer J Kevin Willis, said the centre will have functional teams in financial services, information technology, legal and regulatory, and business analysts, among others.
``These transactional operations have strategic roles in our global businesses and we intend to build a critical mass in India by continuing to invest in all our business segments,’’ he said.
Currently, the centre has 120 professionals and the headcount will touch 300 in about a year.
