Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland has reported a 24.31 per cent decline in sales at 7,139 units during August this year.
The Chennai-based heavy vehicle major had sold 9,432 units during the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a filing with the BSE.
Excluding its small commercial vehicle DOST, the company witnessed 25 per cent fall in commercial vehicle sales at 4,939 units (6,597 units).
Sales of its small commercial vehicle DOST declined 22 per cent to 2,200 units in August 2013 from 2,835 units during the year-ago period.
