Infiniti Retail Ltd, the subsidiary of Tata Sons, which manages the consumer electronics retail business of the Tata group under the name Croma, has appointed Avijit Mitra as the Chief Executive Officer. Mitra was the former Chief Financial Officer of the company. Earlier, he also managed several other functions including legal, IT, procurement (Internal Consumption), merchandising and quality. A Chartered Accountant, Mitra began his career with Tata Global Beverages Ltd in 1990, where he worked in various roles. He then joined the Indian Hotels Company Ltd in 1999, and moved to Infiniti Retail Ltd in 2006.
