Mr I.V. Sarma, Director (R&D), Bharat Electronics Ltd, has been conferred the Old Crows' award for the Best Contributor in Electronic Warfare from among Indian public sector units. The award was presented in Bangalore last week in recognition of Mr Sarma's contribution to the development, manufacture, qualification and induction of a number of EW systems for the three services, a BEL release said.
The defence PSU designs, makes EW systems that are used on land, sea or in air by the three Forces. The US-based Association of Old Crows is a not-for-profit pool of 30,000 individuals, technologists and military personnel involved in using and promoting EW techniques. Born out of World War II Allies' war-time surveillance and communications activities, it opened the India chapter last year.
