Bajaj Auto sold 3,47,624 vehicles in January 2013, a 3 per cent increase on the 3,37,875 units sold during the same month a year ago.

The manufacturer of two- and three-wheelers said in a statement this was the company’s highest ever January sales.

The Pune-based company’s motorcycle sales rose 2 per cent to 3,01,361 units (2,94,439 units in January 2012) during the month under review, while commercial vehicle sales rose 7 per cent to 46,263 units (43,436 vehicles).

Bajaj Auto’s exports rose 10 per cent to 1,28,482 (1,16,996) vehicles in January 2013.

However, the company’s year-to-date (April to January) sales of motorcycles fell 1 per cent to 3,198,771 units (3,231,596), while that of commercial vehicles dipped 8 per cent to 4,04,773 units (4,38,672 vehicles).

Its exports during the period (April to January) fell 3 per cent to 1,310,634 units (1,349,406), the company said in a statement.
