Mr A.S. Basu assumed office as Managing Director of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd today. According to an official press release, prior to this appointment, Mr Basu was the Executive Director of operations at refinery headquarters of Indian Oil Corporation in New Delhi. Chennai Petroleum is a group company of Indian Oil. He is a chemical engineer with three decades experience in refinery operations and management at Indian Oil. The 58-year-old Mr Basu has held various responsibilities in other refineries including Mathura and Haldia, the release said.
