Aerospace power systems major Rolls-Royce and Pune-based forgings major Bharat Forge have formalised an agreement for long term co-operation for the supply of critical and high integrity forged and machined components for a range of aero engines, including the flagship Trent engine.

This comes on the heels of a collaboration over the last 18 months to define and secure the necessary level of stringent quality and process approvals, Bharat Forge said in a statement.

Both companies consider this award to be a significant milestone to cement a strong and long-term relationship.

Baba Kalyani, Chairman & Managing Director, Bharat Forge, said: “It is our strategic intent to play a significant role in global aerospace supply chain with forged and machined products and assemblies in future.

“This supply chain partnership with Rolls-Royce is a momentous step towards achieving our stated goal of $100 million revenues from the aerospace sector.”

Earlier this year, he had told  BusinessLine that its aerospace clients, included Boeing, Safran and Lieberrh (a significant supplier to Airbus).

On the bourses, the company’s stock that fallen by over per cent on Wednesday on news of declining truck production in the North American market, saw a gain of over two per cent during morning trade and closed at ₹801.55, a gain of over one per cent.
