Auto component maker Bosch Ltd today reported a 35.45 per cent increase in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2011, to Rs 274.39 crore.
The company, which follows a January-December fiscal year, had posted a net profit of Rs 202.57 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Total income during the first quarter of the current fiscal stood at Rs 2,085.79 crore as against Rs 1,596.41 crore in the same period a year ago, Bosch Ltd said in a filing to BSE.
Revenues from the automotive segment stood at Rs 1,850.05 crore during the quarter as against Rs 1,409.61 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
During the quarter, expenditure on raw materials jumped to Rs 741.99 crore from Rs 458.76 crore in the same period a year ago, it added.
Bosch Ltd shares was trading at Rs 6,897 apiece in afternoon trade on the BSE, up 3.97 per cent from the previous close.
