Captain Zack, a vegan and free from harmful chemicals pet grooming brand owned by EM & EM Personal Care, on Friday, said it has secured $1.5 million in a pre-Series A round from a consortium of investors. The funding was led by industrialists Kushal Desai and Chaitanya Desai through their family office, said Mohit Lalvani, Founder-Managing Director, Captain Zack, in a statement. Pet care market in India is expected to hit the $270 million mark by 2019. Part of the funding will also be used for Coccoon, the other brand owned by EM & EM which offers beauty formulations using exotic fruit plants.
