Century Plyboards (India) Ltd has reported an over 2 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 42 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2015. Net profit in the corresponding period last fiscal stood at Rs 41 crore.
During the period under review, total income rose marginally by a little over one per cent to Rs 391 crore as against Rs 386 crore in the year ago period.
Revenues and profit before tax (PBT) from the plywood and allied products segment came down during the period. Revenues in the segment stood at Rs 275 crore (a decline by over 2 per cent); as against Rs 281 crore in the year-ago-period. PBT on a y-o-y comparison declined by 24 per cent or Rs 13 crore to 41 crore (Rs 54 crore).
Laminate and allied products segment, however, registered growth of 7 per cent to Rs 77 crore (Rs 72 crore); but the profits before tax in the segment doubled to Rs 10 crore (Rs 5 crore) for the period under review.
