Century Plyboards has forayed into the ready made furniture retail business by launching Nesta Furniture.
The company’s first store was opened by actress Karisma Kapoor at Kormangala in Bangalore. The store is the first in the series of furniture retail stores to be launched across the country.
“Nesta envisages creation of 3.5 million square feet of retail space with 111 outlets in the next five years with a projected turnover of Rs 500 crore with an initial investment of Rs 100 crore,” said Sajjan Bhajanka, Chairman, Century Plyboards.
For Nesta Furniture, the company acquired capability in product design in the last three years, with the help of its annual design awards called ‘Aces of Spaces’.
“In this forum, the company has been associated with international designers like Patricia Urquiola, leading Indian architects like architect Karan Grover and leading young design talents from Chile like Sebastian Rozas and Matias Bravos,” said Abhra Banerjee, Executive Business Head, Nesta Furniture.
